A trademark can be defined as the unique identity that makes your company, product, or service be highlighted. It’s necessary to make sure that you possess the rights to use your brand's logo, tagline, product shape and this license is essential to get a unique identity. Trademark symbol 'TM' is a provisional symbol which is used for unregistered Trademarks. It acts as a warning symbol that the application is in progress. The trademark symbol 'R' signifies the registered trademark.  ® The symbol can be used with once the application gets approved by the government. The validity of the registration is 10 years from the date of filing of the application. After the period of validity you can renew the trademark. A trademark is only valid in India and will not permit in any international status. Foreign applicants under the Madrid Protocol an international trademark application may be filed through the trademark office of the applicant. The Office of trademark receives the application and then forwards it to the WIPO.
