Coir board is a constitutional body enabled by the government under the coir industry act No 45 of 1953. The board is to improve the business of coir products like coir fibre, coconut husk and coir yarn etc. All coir exports and imports are constituted in the coir board act. An industry which is registered under coir board can avail of schemes and subsidies of government.
