Any manufacturer or merchant who is dealing with export of spices having a certificate from spices board (CRES) is mandatory. CRES means Certificate of Registration as an Exporter of Spices which is issued by the Spices Board of India. Trading without spices board certificate leads to imprisonment upto 1 year and fine upto thousand rupees. The validity of CRES is 3 years. The certificate should be renewed before the end of validity.
